Solar Christmas Lights will save you allot of money on your powerelectric bill during a time of the year when cash can be tight.
You may find initially that making your own set of solar Christmas lights will be more expensive than actually buying a set that has already put together. The advantages however are that you now can design a system which meets your specific needs, and it might just be fun. I have a video where someone shows you how to build your own set of soalr Christmas lights, and my only disagreement is that I feel you could use LED Christmas lights and not just any 12 V lights. Your lights will shine a lot longer.
